BUILDING HEALTHY SOILS AND RESILIENT FARMS

Acheytanyo Group, in partnership with Pastoral Communities Empowerment Programme (PACEP), successfully conducted an engaging and hands on agroecology training for group leaders from Adoket, Wiz-Ilat, Sla smallholder farmers, and community members in West Pokot.This was not just a training,it was a practical learning experience focused on building healthy soils and resilient farms 

Focus Areas Included:1️⃣ Soil Fertility ManagementParticipants actively prepared:* Bokashi – a nutrient rich organic soil amendment* Beneficial microbial solutions for soil and plant health* Liquid biofertilizer* Plant tea manure2️⃣ Integrated Crop Pest & Disease ManagementFarmers also formulated:* Fermented plant extracts* Ash brew and other natural pest control solutionsThese skills empower farmers to use locally available resources to improve soil fertility, reduce production costs, and minimize reliance on synthetic chemicals. The result? Healthier soils, stronger crops, improved yields, and enhanced food security for households.When farmers gain knowledge, the whole community grows stronger.This is how we build resilient, self reliant communities .
